Running the race with Perseverance
May 9th, 2021Paul described our Christianity as a race. In 2 Timothy 4:7, he said I have finished the race. To be successful at any race, it must be done with perseverance, passion, and purpose. This week we will look at running the race with perseverance. In Hebrews 10:36, Paul declared that we need endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise. Like Paul, we should press towards the goal forgetting those things which are behind. Our Christian race is a marathon and not a sprint.
As you run the race, you will experience pain and shortness of breath. Your whole body would want to give up and stop. The only way to win is to keep going and not stop. Peradventure, we fall, we are to rise up again and keep going. Proverbs 24:16 says a righteous man may fall seven times but will rise again.
You may face challenges in your Christian race, please do not give up. You are trying to do the right thing but it is getting difficult, don’t give up. Let us not be weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9). We should run our race with perseverance looking unto Jesus, the author, and finisher of our faith.
